Guys
Anyone know details how electricity bill is computed. I have been told by Assotech maintenance guys that We have to pay fixed charges based on our KVs plus units consumption.
The component of Fixed charges (for 8KV Load for 3BHK +study flat )as follows
UPPCL charges : 65/KW/Month
Load = 8KV
Power Backup Load : 2.5
Power Backup Charges : 150/KW/Month
So total fixed charges comes out to be : 520(UPPCL) + 375(Power Backup) = 895.
Unit charges : 3.45 ( upto 200 ) , 3.85 ( more then 200 units)
They told that even when you consume one unit then that will cost extra from fixed charges. It seems they are bluffing with us in big way . In an individual meter billing is primarily based on unit charges. If the consumption is below the approved Load then fixed charges is applicable otherwise actual units * unit charges is applicable.
So in effect our billing should be as follows
= Greater of ( units * unit prices , Fixed charges based on KVA) + Power Backup Charges + Power Backup Unit Charges * Power Backup units
If I consume 150 main units then the value of UPPCL will be 150*3.45 ~ 520 RS. So based on above formula our bill should be
= 520 + Power Backup Charges + Power Backup Unit Charges * Power Backup units
This implies we should get 150 units free under our Load.
Now what Assotech or other societies must be doing as follows
= Fixed Charges based on KVA + units * unit prices + Power Backup Charges + Power Backup Unit Charges * Power Backup units
They are taking fixed charges from us in the name of UPPCL but they are not giving any units.
Please do let me know if my understanding is wrong.
Regards
Mohit
