Dear Residents, In a bid to check crimes against women in the national capital, the Delhi Government today launched a round-the-clock helpline "181" for offering immediate help to women in distress. The helpline will be connected with the 185 police stations of the city. The number '181' can be dialled from both landline and mobile phones. The number "1090" may appear innocuous to many. But for women folk of Uttar Pradesh, who are often at the receiving end and have been subjected to molestation, rapes and stalking, it denotes a 'power line', quite literally. The women folk can access the helpline from anywhere in the state and can register their complaints. A specially trained force comprising women only constables has been formed to attend to the calls and ensure timely help to the victims. With Best Regards Amit Kumar Halder |
