There was some incident in Tower-B somedays back and lift was damaged. It took more than 10 days to get that repaired. However, there were two versons of stories that time to as to why or when the lift got damaged.
Today again at 8:30 PM around, I, my wife and another lady with two kids got stuck in the lift. Lift did not open at the destination. There is no phone in that lift. There are no mobile signals. The alarm system does not work.
SO. You can not call anyone. You are left at the mercy of passerby who someone by chance may hear your voice and alert the people. If it is happening at the odd hours, god only knows how many hours later you may get some help.
We got out of the lift our own. I tried to open the gate myself and pushed a little. The gates opened. But it took close to 10 minutes to figure out what to do. The other lady with two small kids was in state of shock and panic.
I do not know how many of us feel safe with this status. Anyways, If we are fine with this situation. I am ok with this as well. Otherwise, we need to take it up with the people who are responsible for keeping lifts in order.
Immediate need is to put the phone and alarm system and check both of them. OTIS has provided a permanent staff to serve these lifts. He must take few rounds himself to see whats wrong with the lifts.
