absolutely correct.... moreover I had a guest who had some knowledge on the STP installation and he said this is the noise of hydraulic pump and the intensity suggests that its a used/refurbished pump.

Noise will come from any STP due to its various parts/ systems hyd pumps, exhaust fans, gates, pipes etc. The only remedy is that contractor should use proper sound dampening material. Sound blankets, coustic louvers are used for this. May be they r not using these.

But its on a daily basis with a min of 12-15 hrs operation and sometimes even 24 hrs...

Seems, it's not on daily basis, As we have visited my flat 2-3 times and spent there around 5-6 hours in afternoon, but i haven't heard the noise .

The STP plants are functional from at least 2 months, and yes the noise will be heard only in the golf facing flats... if u r park facing you are safe.
